The Iron Gate (Đerdap) national park is one of the most magnificent places in the Balkans. Situated along the south bank of the biggest river in Europe, the Danube, it is full of unspoiled natural beauty and history. It's dense, endless forests, hidden river valleys and canyons, caves, a wealth of plant and animal life, majestic coastline, the cradle of European civilization, breathtaking scenic views on the cliffs high above the big river... It all sums up to a truly magical place, a treat for true adventurers. But tourists rarely leave the coastline, what lies beyond is a mystery to them. Even the park rangers rarely leave the coastline - the mountains of the Iron Gate park are a realm of wolves, that you can sometimes hear howling if you dare to enter their territory.
We've been there many times. On foot, on mountain bikes, exploring the depths of the forests with Jeeps. Camping in the wild, enjoying something that is so rare in urban Europe - a chance to be engulfed in true wilderness. Through this video we've tried to show you at least a part of it, to let you see the Iron Gate national park through our eyes, to give you the privilege to get to know places that very few people have been to.
That privilege can be yours for real this year! Jeep Club Serbia will be hosting the great Iron Gate tour for the May holidays, from May 1st to 5th.
