This was one of the hottest summers over the past years in Latvia, but it was double hot for Jeep Club Latvia, because of the preparations for our event in honor of the 70th anniversary of the Jeep brand.

The start of the event was given at 19:00 and Jeeps departed to Jumurda, which is one of the most beautiful places in Latvia. Weather conditions were fantastic - Jeepers were very excited. The first part of event was  “Trip of Luck” or Jeep poker, where participants tried to find some cards in 5 places of Latvia. The team with the highest sum of card numbers was the happy winner. Congratulations to “Jeeper”.

After 22:00 everybody arrived at hotel Jumurda to accommodate themselves in cozy rooms and spend  the first evening singing songs in different languages accompanied by accordion.

A sunny and hot Saturday morning started with a briefing about the day’s event. All participants were divided in groups: standard cars and upgraded cars. Each of them had to complete an orientation stage in surroundings of Jumurda, testing their ability of understanding road legend, while taking part in a relay race and getting through a quarry.

Each part of these sub events had its own nuances. Road legend had to be completed within 180 minutes. Route had to be managed in accordance with written road legend and a description with map, where certain checkpoints were marked and these had to be photographed with at least one team member on them. A little rest time was allowed between the Orientation part and the Legend part in the middle of Nowhere.

Orientation was the next part with a time limit of 180 minutes. During this time participants had to find as many checkpoints as possible. Upgraded cars had to photograph checkpoints in a way that a team member was touching the checkpoint and the car at the same time. Standard car participants had to take a photo with just the object and one of the team members on it.

In the awards ceremony the results were announced:

• 3rd place Cherokee team No. 747 Gonzales

• 1st place Wrangler team No. 19 Egils19
• 2nd place Wrangler team No. 47 Sherk
• 3rd place Grand Cherokee team No. 33 Dinamo33
  

After the awards ceremony, we had a picnic up to the early morning!
