TOPLESS WE SHALL CONQUER THE WORLD - WORLDWIDE 4X4 TOPLESS DAY SUNDAY - 09 MAY 2010
We reserved the entire Monument Restaurant and seeing that they needed an indication of the number of people to expect, we humbly replied that measured to previous years we expect at least thirty or so people to join in the mother’s day breakfast. Late Thursday we had approximately fifty reservations and on Sunday morning, more than eighty Jeep enthusiasts arrived to join in this event. Hats off to the Monument Restaurant - they adapted and served us all without any hick-up. Thanks guys and girls, we really appreciate your effort and everyone enjoyed the superb breakfast.

Topic: Those who could - took off their tops (I mean the Jeep’s hard or soft tops); those without a top - did not bother; the rest had to be contented with their permanently fixed tops.

For those longing to stretch the Jeeps wheels a bit further, Riaan organised a scenic route passing the various forts on the koppies and the other breakfast enthusiasts met in front of the Monument Restaurant in Pretoria. We had participants from as far as Krugersdorp in the west and Witbank in the east. Some nonmembers also joined in the event and we were very pleased to welcome a few old Jeep veterans at this Jeep family gathering.

We parked in front of the Monument Restaurant and old friends were greeting each other and renewing old friendships. Some just visited to take photos of the Jeeps and others, like the tourists visiting the Voortrekker Monument, were very intrigued with this Jeep gathering - “never seen so many Jeeps together” - and the cameras were flashing. Carma Coetzee (at that stage a mother to be for the third time and now the proud mother of a daughter - congratulations!) and Caytlin distributed red roses to all the “mothers” and then it was time to enjoy the buffet breakfast - eat as much as you like!
Apart from the Jeep Club SA Annual Mother’s Day Breakfast Run, combined with the 3rd Annual World Wide Topless Day, we also had another matter to attend to. As announced earlier this year we had to change the Club’s logo and official name and this was also the opportunity to unveil our new banner - also to be used as web site heading and letter head.

If you look at this banner, do you doubt which country we represent?
LIONS, TABLE MOUNTAIN, ELEPHANT, BAOBAB TREE AND JOHANNESBURG - WELCOME TO SOUTH AFRICA!
Thanks to everyone attending and / or contributing to this event - this again proved to show that the Jeep Club South Africa is a family orientated pleasure club catering for the “loves” in our lives - our families, friends, outdoor adventure and needless to say - our Jeeps!
And if the Voortrekkers were not so stubborn and waited a few years, they could have used Jeeps and done the “Trek” in only a few days!

MOTHER’S DAY BREAKFAST - KZN MOTHER’S DAY OUTING - 9 MAY 2010
The Jeep Club RSA, KZN Chapters regular monthly outing was held on Sunday 9 May 2010. This time it took the form of a breakfast/brunch to give all our "mothers" a kitchen break and to show our appreciation and gratitude for the wonderful (and sometimes not so easy), role they play in our lives as "children" of all ages! THANKS MOMS!

Our South Coast weather was yet again being kind to us with another wonderful sunny morning. Thanks to all those who made it (including our new members - welcome!) to the BEAVER CREEK Coffee Plantation Café and Restaurant, who laid on bottomless pots of their steaming brew of different home-grown varieties, as well as the well prepared breakfast. Many thanks also to the "member mothers" for the very thoughtful and beautifully made convenient roll-up size shopping bags presented to all our mothers with us. In this time of "eco" and "green" awareness and quite rightly so, these unique shopping bags are just the thing to have tucked in a mother's handbag when out shopping. A good fun social breakfast, leaving members the rest of Mother's Day to still enjoy with their families.
