The last week of October 2008, Hellas jeep club organized his 4th annual jeep jamboree, where a team of 52 Jeeps from seven cites of Greece meet at lake Plastira in the Municipality of Karditsa. The participants staid in hotels close to the lake, with astonishing view of the lake, which are build with the traditional Greek style.

The first day (Saturday) participants had all types of terrain to cope with, from mountain stone roads up to muddy lakeside roads. The trip started from the parking area, close to the lake, and climbed to 1850 meters where you can have a full view of the lake. hen we start going down the mountain some hard terrain gave jeepers the opportunity to play with their jeeps. Tow straps and winching started for those how did not make through the ditches.

The rest of the team was waiting with passion for their turn watching the others pass and discuss about the correct way how to pass the ditch.

We reach the lake in mid afternoon, where a special task was be prepared for the JEEPERS in order to find points, hidden close to the lake and between trees in the forest. It was easy to get stuck, so the best crew had to find how to drive his jeep in order to find the points and not stuck. The result, if you don't drive with sense, is to stuck in the unstable soil of the lake( with me first).

The winner was from Patra and he got his prize -a set of mud terrain tires.
For Saturday night, we had our dinner with Greek music, and we had a very nice moment. One of our club members asks his girlfriend to be his wife, in front of 150 jeepers. The answer was YES of course. The night lasted long with music and good wine. (No one drive after this).
Next morning heavy rain made a challenging terrain for all Jeepers. All cars had to drive around the lake and find thought GPS and maps waypoints in order to come back in a special meeting area.
The going was easy except the parts that you have to drive close to the lake or between the hills that are covered with grass. The actual time to get in the special meeting area was 1 hour and 45 minutes. In this event, only Nick from Thessaloniki was close to that time so he won. The trophy for him was a GPS.
Around 14:00, all Jeepers renewed the meeting for next year. Next year we are planning that th 5th JEEP JAMBOREE will be held in Pindos close to Giannena city. For details, we will keep you informed.
